About Us

Faithfully serving together to meet our neighbors in need.

Since 2002, the Greensburg Community Bread of Life has rescued and received over 2 million pounds of food and transformed it into a nutritious hot meal. We are a place of hunger relief and a safe haven of Christian fellowship showing all who enter our doors hope, love, and mercy.

Since teaming up with Gleaners Food Bank, our food rescue has been on the rise as well, giving us the ability to distribute meals to other agencies and help fight hunger throughout our surrounding area.

We provide a free hot meal for the:

  • Working Poor

  • Jobless/Homeless

  • Elderly on Fixed Income

  • Families in hardship or illness

Four Ways Our Programs Benefit the Community

The Hungry

Our patrons are able to receive a free nutritious meal. We serve on Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Thursdays from 3 pm - 5 pm. Delivery is
available for those without transportation on
Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Volunteers

We welcome individuals and families to partner with us in helping those in need. We offer several opportunities in various areas to serve. Many of our volunteers have made lasting friendships with each other and our patrons.

The Donors

Donations come to Bread of Life in the form of food and monetary donations. While donations benefit the donor by receiving tax deductions for their charitable giving, we would not exist or be able to serve the community without this valuable support.

The Environment

At Bread of Life, we work to educate the community about the Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act so that they will donate perfectly useful food that would otherwise go to our landfills.

Ninety-two percent of the food we serve would have otherwise been waste.
