Kitchen Assistant

Part-time Position

Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30am - 5:30pm
$11/hour


About us:

Greensburg Community Bread of Life is a non-profit agency. Since 2002, Bread of Life has rescued and received over 2 million pounds of food and transformed it into a nutritious, hot meal. We are a place of hunger relief and a safe haven of Christian fellowship showing all who enter our doors hope, love, and mercy. We provide a free nutritious meal for the working poor, jobless/homeless, elderly on a fixed income, and families in hardship or illness. We serve a free meal on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3pm to 5pm.

 

Role Overview:

The Bread of Life staff are responsible for setting the pace for a great shift, every shift. They provide dependable service in a Christ-centered atmosphere. They work with a volunteer crew that changes each day throughout the day. This individual will work closely with the Assistant Kitchen Manager and the Kitchen Manager.

Responsibilities​:

  • Receiving, handling, and sorting of food

  • Organizing of produce, freezer, and dry storage

  • Creating weekly food boxes/"blessing boxes"

  • Rescuing food from local establishments

  • Tearing Down/Cleaning Up

 

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with good driving record.

  • Able to lift 40 lbs.

  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.

  • Independent worker.
